Introducing Profile Analytics: See the Real Value of Your Business Listing
We’re excited to announce one of the most requested features we’ve ever built: Profile Analytics. For the first time, you can see exactly how your business performs across the entire Cylex ecosystem — Cylex, FindOpen, Firmania, and Yably — in a single, unified dashboard.
If you’ve ever wondered what registering in a business directory actually does for you, this is the answer.
Why measuring directory performance matters
There are many good reasons to list your business in a directory like Cylex: link building, citation building, and SEO / GEO optimization all contribute to your visibility over time. But the benefit most business owners care about most is simple — generating leads.
Some of those benefits are genuinely hard to measure. It’s difficult to quantify exactly how a citation influences your search rankings, or how data from Cylex shapes the answers that AI assistants give about your industry. Traffic data, on the other hand, is concrete and valuable. Across our ecosystem, Cylex, FindOpen, Firmania, and Yably drive traffic to millions of businesses every single month. Now we can finally show you that traffic — who’s visiting, what they’re doing, and where they’re coming from.
What you can now see
Every business profile is tracked, and we measure all the activity that matters:
- Profile views and unique visitors — how many people landed on your profile and how many distinct individuals they represent.
- Visitor actions — we count every meaningful click: website visits, phone calls, WhatsApp messages, Messenger chats, emails, bookings, and direction requests.
- Search performance on our platforms — every time your profile appears in a search result or category page, including how often you show up in the “nearby similar companies” list on other profiles. We record impressions, position, clicks, and CTR, and break it down by the keywords and categories that surfaced your listing.
- Traffic sources and visitor locations — where your visitors come from, and the top cities and regions they’re located in, shown on an interactive map.
- New vs. returning visitors and device split (desktop, mobile, tablet), so you understand the shape of your audience.

Data is aggregated across Cylex, FindOpen, Firmania, and Yably wherever your profiles exist — but you can also filter down and view each platform independently. A simple business picker lets you switch between listings if you manage more than one, and you can select any month with available data to compare periods.

One dashboard, internal and external data together
Profile Analytics doesn’t stop at the data we collect ourselves. The dashboard also pulls in external data from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools — connected to your profile URLs, just like the reports you’d see for your own website, but for your business profiles on each platform.
That means you can see the real search queries that surface your profile pages, your average position in Google and Bing, the number of clicks, and your click-through rate. Importing data from GSC and Bing Webmaster Tools comes with some limitations — certain keywords are hidden to protect searcher privacy — but it still gives you a clear, trustworthy overview of how your profiles perform in classic search.

A new era of search: the GEO opportunity
Search is changing across the whole industry. The trend is a clear shift away from the classic “10 blue links” and toward AI assistants that simply provide answers. LLMs like Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity still send visitors your way, but the behavior is different: depending on the topic and user intent, studies suggest only 2–20% of AI searches result in a click to a source link.
That’s why we built AI Visibility Estimation into the dashboard. We display the sources we detect and estimate the total number of AI mentions based on the traffic patterns we observe. Crucially, it’s not only your profile page that gets cited — our category pages are frequently cited too. Think of typical local searches like “best services in town”, where an LLM aggregates many sources to build a top list. Cylex is often cited as one of those sources, and we measure the traffic those list pages generate.

There’s a direct benefit here for businesses ranked highly on our platform: the companies at the top of a list tend to earn extra AI visibility because they’re cited even when their individual profile page isn’t named directly. The higher your business appears in our search results, the better your odds of being included in those top-list AI answers.
A note on estimates: AI visibility figures are estimations based on the data we can see. In reality the true numbers may be higher or lower. We’d rather give you an honest directional signal than a false sense of precision.
Real AI citation data, as the platforms release it
The good news is that AI search engines are starting to share real data on queries and pages. Bing Webmaster Tools was first to launch an AI Performance report showing citation sources from Microsoft Copilot and its partners. We detect the cited business profiles and display the citation count directly in your reports.
Google is next, with a similar generative AI performance report coming to Google Search Console. As each new source becomes available, we’ll work to import it and surface it in your dashboard.
Know where you stand: the Competitor Benchmark
One of the most valuable additions is the Competitor Benchmark report, which shows how similar businesses in your locality are performing. Rather than ranking purely on profile page views, businesses are ranked by a composite score that weighs everything that reflects the true value of a listing:
- Profile page views
- Directory search impressions
- Search engine (Google and Bing) SERP impressions
- AI citation and estimation data
Each competitor card shows rank, name, address, logo, star rating, review count, and a breakdown of the score — and your own business is always highlighted so you can find yourself instantly.
This composite rank is a far better reflection of the benefits a company actually gets from being listed than a simple visitor count. The full benchmark is a premium feature. Non-premium listings can see only their own data and where they rank — the rest of the list, including who sits at the top, is unlocked with an upgrade.
Who benefits most
Premium entries have a structural advantage: they appear at the top of search results and on the profile pages of all nearby similar businesses, which increases the chances of more visitors and more citations. But the main goal isn’t vanity metrics — it’s boosting your SEO / GEO and helping you get more leads.
It’s also worth highlighting that standard profiles without a website, or with a website that has weak SEO, often see more directory traffic — because in those cases the profile page itself is the primary lead-generation channel, not the website. Profile Analytics finally lets those businesses see the value they’ve been getting all along.
Available now in BETA — with more to come
Profile Analytics is launching as a BETA in a few countries, and we’re rolling it out continuously everywhere. We’ll keep extending the dashboard as more data sources and import options become available, and we’re constantly improving tracking quality, bot detection, and overall usability.
Business owners can also opt in to a monthly email with a summary of their statistics, so the numbers come to you without having to log in.
We can’t wait for you to see what your Cylex listing has been doing for your business. Log in, open your dashboard, and explore Profile Analytics today.
